ltrasonics in Endodontics: A Review of the Literature

w bstract uring the past few decades endodontic treatment has enefited from the development of new techniques and quipment, which have improved outcome and predictbility. Important attributes such as the operating miroscope and ultrasonics (US) have found indispensable pplications in a number of dental procedures in peridontology, to a much lesser extent in restorative denistry, while being very prominently used in endodonics. US in endodontics has enhanced the quality of reatment and represents an important adjunct in the reatment of difficult cases. Since its introduction, US as become increasingly more useful in applications uch as gaining access to canal openings, cleaning and haping, obturation of root canals, removal of intracaal materials and obstructions, and endodontic surgery. his comprehensive review of the literature aims at resenting the numerous uses of US in clinical endoontics and emphasizes the broad applications in a odern-day endodontic practice.
